Amador
Marcela is a young immigrant from Peru, living in Madrid with her partner, Nelson. Though she plans on leaving him, her plans are aborted when she finds out she’s pregnant. To boost their income she takes up the care of the elderly Amador, bedridden in his house, for a month. The two of them form a special bond until Amador passes away. Wanting to secure the cash she’s in desperate need of, Marcela decides to keep this fact secret from his family – with unpredictable results. The award-winning Fernando Leόn de Aranoa (“Princesas”, “Los Lunes al Sol”) returns to fiction after a brief stint on documentary. Here, he relies on the sturdy performance by the up-and-coming Magaly Solier to create a bittersweet, black humour-filled comedy that comments on the financial crisis and the (more present than ever) class conflict.
