Let’s take a trip to Virgil, Texas. Don’t worry about finding it on the map ? it doesn’t really exist. Our tour guide, none other than the genius who goes by the name of David Byrne, introduces us to some of the town’s colorful inhabitants, including the extremely likeable Lewis Fyne (John Goodman in one of his first roles.) A veritable gallery of less-than-ordinary characters, a supreme soundtrack by the Talking Heads (look out for the rest of the band in cameo appearances) and a faux-naïve directing style come together in a intelligent comedy about small-town America.
