Medicine For Melancholy
After a wild party, Micah and Jo wake up in the same bed with a terrible hangover and absolutely no idea of who this stranger lying next to them is. This is normally the moment when you mumble some niceties and part for good and, indeed, this is what the accidental couple would have done, hadn’t it been for Micah’s insistence to spend their Sunday together. Barry Jenkins masterfully weaves a strange love story that was never meant to be between two African-Americans isolated in a predominantly white San Francisco. Boasting stunning ?and truly San Franciscan- cinematography, this little DIY gem received the Audience Award at San Francisco.
