A small Arkansas community is shaken out of its slumber, when the news announce that the rare Ivory Billed Woodpecker ?thought extinct since the 40s- was apparently spotted in the bayou. Enthusiastic bird watchers arrive is throngs hoping to spot the woodpecker, without much luck. As the bird continues to avoid detection, the small town is torn between those who are only too happy with the unexpected money flow and hunters who see their grounds threatened by environmentalists. Letting his actors blend in with the real townsfolk, Alex Karpovsky delivers a brilliant mocumentary about truth, lies and perceptions.
