In a machine dominated claustrophobic world, the population has been turned into a passive mass, trapped in a vicious circle of work-obedience-reproduction-consumption. When someone reaches the limits of his tolerance, he manages to escape. Still, even the very notion of escaping [Fuga], is part of the imprisonment.
