The tragically untimely death of Bruce Lee in 1973 was an event that shocked his many fans. So much so that the blooming Asian film industry of the time had to...resurrect him countless times, cloning kung fu martial artists into something like Bruce Lee (Lai, Lo, Le, Liang) and making them stars of enjoyable generic films which flooded Asia, the USA and Europe during the ‘70s and the ‘80s. Among the countless worshipful images in the masterfully pulp clone-films of the so-called Bruceploitation, there are human stories, nostalgia for an era of orgasmic production, and movie theater health. There is the unique feeling of an analogue era and an entertainment industry in full bloom. I.D.
