When six-year-old Armand is accused of (unspecified) aggressive and inappropriate behavior towards a classmate, the children's parents and school staff meet to compromise. However, the attitude of defiance gradually gives way to poisonous confrontations and the adults prove unable to overcome their prejudices. Τhus they are driven to a volcanic eruption that the talented Tøndel deconstructs abstractly with a -literally- choreographed climax. Ingeniously covering the distance between "The Teacher’s Lounge" and Polanski’s "Carnage", the film won the Camera d’Or for Best Directorial Debut at Cannes, while as the controversial mother Renate Reinsve fulfils triumphantly the promise of "The Worst Person in the World".

HALFDAN ULLMANN TØNDEL
Norwegian director, born in 1990. His mother is the daughter of Liv Ullmann and Ingmar Bergman. He studied Film at Westerdals Oslo School of Arts and this is his feature film debut.
