Maturity won’t come with age. That and several other lessons from the adult world are to be learned by 17-year-old Sam during a camping trip with two divorced middle-aged adults: her father and his best friend. And while the weekend alternates between relaxed confessions and bitter admissions for two men who realize their personal dead ends, for the girl the road to adulthood opens abruptly and decisively. With its understated power, elegiac tone and careful observation of human behavior, this beautiful and insightful debut is justifiably compared to that of the great Kelly Reichardt. At the same time, it introduces us to 40-year-old India Donaldson, a talented young filmmaker whom we should henceforth await.

INDIA DONALDSON
American film director, daughter of director Roger Donaldson. She studied English Literature. She delivered her short film debut in 2018 and this is her feature length debut. It was first screened at Sundance and Cannes, receiving rave reviews.
