In a provincial town in Galicia during the Franco regime, Maria works as a midwife, helping local women both during childbirth and pregnancy. After a tragic event, she finds herself suspected for the sudden death of a young girl. Maria will be forced to flee in pursuit, on an odyssey that will take her beyond the country's borders, on a journey evidently focused on womanhood. The female body becomes a battlefield in a poetic film, which gave its creator the top award at last year's San Sebastian festival.

JAIONE CAMBORDA
Spanish director and writer, born in the Basque Country in San Sebastian. She studied Directing in Prague and Munich. Member of the Novo Cine Galego movement. She became the first Spanish woman to win the top prize at San Sebastian in the 71 years of the festival.
