Blocked from Gaza, the Iranian director entrusts Fatma, a charismatic Palestinian photojournalist, with her reports from the war zone. Their video calls, which lasted almost a year, form a shocking chronicle against the backdrop of unimaginable destruction, but with Fatma's hope and unyielding optimism always in the foreground. In April 2025, after the producers had been informed that their film had been selected for the Cannes Film Festival, blind gunfire served as a reminder that what we see on screen is only a distant ray of light away. A true landmark for our times, the documentary highlights the need to record these events and the importance, if not the responsibility, of raising one's voice above the deafening noise of the explosions.
