Relentless in its revelations, sad in its observations, shockingly urgent and designed to cause justified anxiety in anyone who watches it, the film lists all the misguided, hypocritical strategies employed by (not only) the Bush administration in order to initially support, cover up and then sell hot air to the countless scientific and ecological voices that, since the late 1970s, have called for immediate action on the catastrophic consequences of global warming. Using exclusively archive footage, valuable interviews, and references to leaked classified documents, this valuable investigative documentary no longer sounds the alarm, but rather launches an anathema against all human foolishness, political hypocrisy and criminal negligence that have led this planet and all of us to count down toward an inevitable and complete environmental catastrophe that could have been prevented. JON SHENK, BONNI COHEN, PEDRO KOS
Jon Shenk is an Emmy-winning and Oscar-nominated documentary film director and director of photography, known for his films “Lead Me Home” and “Athlete A”. He is the co-founder, with his wife Bonni Cohen, of Actual Films. “Lead Me Home” which premiered in 2021 at the Telluride Film Festival, was acquired by Netflix, and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary (Short Subject) in 2022.

Bonni Cohen is an American documentary film producer and director. She is the co-founder of Actual Films and has produced and directed an array of award-winning films. She co-directed “Athlete A”, which won an Emmy for Outstanding Investigative Documentary and received four nominations from the Critics’ Choice Awards. She is also the co-founder of the Catapult Film Fund.
Pedro Kos is an Academy Award nominee. He co-directed the Netflix Original Documentary “Lead Me Home” (2021) with Jon Shenk. He also directed, wrote, and edited the documentary feature film “Rebel Hearts”, which premiered in the U.S. Documentary Competition at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival and was released worldwide by Discovery+.
