Filmed in eight different countries, this multifaceted documentary travels across the globe to capture from the inside the stories of fanatical soccer fans, known as ultras, shedding light on and examining the ardent supporter phenomenon in its entirety. Stories from the stands, with social, political, and unexpectedly poetic content, where the protagonists remain anonymous and the director (herself an organized fan) inserts impressive panoramas from the time of the matches. In stadiums where collective spirit, however colorful, is expressed through venue rituals, where excessive love for the team overflows into choreographed passions and chants that paint the largest, most intense and more influential subculture humanity has ever known. RAGNHILD EKNER
Swedish documentary filmmaker, born in 1982. She has a BA in documentary filmmaking from the Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts 2013, and made her debut with the feature length documentary “The Traffic Lights Turn Blue Tomorrow”. With roots in graffiti and football culture, she is interested in the individuals and groups that seek possibilities beyond the norm.
