Ten defining years in the life of a boy growing up in the rural parts of northern France, a boy destined to take over his parents’ business, yet with a dream of escape within him. Structurally reminiscent of Richard Linklater’s “Boyhood”, this bittersweet documentary is a remarkable achievement, chronicling the ten-year physical and emotional transformation of a young boy into a man against the backdrop of a rapidly changing world of work and an anachronistic way of life that seems to be slowly fading away. Tenderly, the director chronicles a journey of coming of age and emancipation, culminating in a naturally moving finale  - a melancholic acceptance of the inevitable end of certain things, but also the hopeful beginning of others. Loukas Katsikas

MAXENCE VOISEUX
Writer-director born in Ardennes in 1988. After studying science, he began studying documentary filmmaking at the University of Paris VII, where he trained in directing and editing. “Gabin” is his debut feature film.
