30th Athens International Film Festival: International Documentaries Competition Awards
The Jury for the International Documentaries Competition section of the 30th Athens International Film Festival was composed by:

The Jury was impressed by the variety of topics and the quality of the overall selection and believed that all the films deserved to be screened publicly, even the one that did not have the opportunity to have an audience.
Golden Athena Best Documentary Award | NO OTHER LAND by Basel Adra, Hamdan Ballal, Yuval Abraham, Rachel Szor
In the words of the Jury:
“Τhis film succeeded in transporting us to a place and time in a way that resonated with us long after the lights went out in the theater. The filmmakers have built an artistic and activist alliance, transcending differences and cooperating to build a bridge with which to cross the abyss of seemingly endless conflict.”

“We would like to honor a film in which the director takes us on his own artistic path of discovering another artist, thereby offering us a glimpse into the intricate connections between cinema and art.”

The Golden Athena awards-statuettes for Best Fiction and Documentary Film were created by designer Giorgos Sepetzoglou and are courtesy of ZOLOTAS Jewellers.
The Athens International Film Festival, sponsored by Nova, took place from October 2nd to October 14th. The venues that hosted this year's event were: DANAOS I & II, CINOBO OPERA I & II, ASTOR, ASTY, AVANA, FRENCH INSTITUTE OF GREECE, ONASSIS STEGI, MEGARON ATHENS CONCERT HALL, MUSEUM OF CYCLADIC ART and PALLAS.
