Greek Short Stories: Local Heroes - Short film screenings of AIFF at PIOP Museums
The Athens International Film Festival, in collaboration with the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation (PIOP), presents in June and July the programme "Greek Short Stories: Local Heroes" in three of the Foundation's Museums.

The films that will be screened include stories set in the Greek province that have participated in the previous three years in "Greek Short Stories" competition section of the Athens International Film Festival.

At The Airport

In a small greek island, Prokopis is the only employee of the local airport.

Pledging The Sun

A middle-aged man living in the countryside is trapped by a failed business project and has lost connection with people around him. A local festival will be an opportunity for him to understand that it may not be too late to reconnect with reality.

The Boar

Fotis returns to a deserted village in the Greek mountains for his father's will announcement. Collides with the villagers, local environment and his own routes till he finds out that he is closer to his father than he ever thought.

To Vancouver

Two Siblings, one spell, wounded landscapes and an inevitable departure. "To Vancouver" is a short chronicle of a disappearing act in the times of the new Depression.

Harmonica Man
DURATION: 20’ DIRECTOR: Alexandros Skouras
A father has kidnapped his daughter. Running out of money, they are on a road trip, trying to reach as far as possible.

Pink Mountain
DURATION: 9’ DIRECTOR: Thomas Künstler
Ioannina, Greece, 1809. Ali Pashas tries to please his young wife Vasiliki, offering her valuable jewelry and other valuables. The only thing that makes her happy is the pink flowers that the florist of the yard cultivates especially for her. A competition starts between the two men, for the love of Vasiliki. In the end, it will be doubtful who the real winner is.
