Everything you need to know about tickets and film passes

The 28th event of the festival will take place in its usual indoor venues, open all year round, ASTOR, ASTY, DANAOS, IDEAL, ATHENS MUSEUM, TRIANON, PALACE and for the first time and for a special screening at VILLAGE CINEMAS - VMAX SPHERA @ THE MALL ATHENS.

FILM PASSES, PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES, UNEMPLOYED, ACCREDITATIONS  

FILM PASSES FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES 

People with disabilities can attend any of the Festival’s screenings for free with the use of a 5-screening Film Pass (subject to availability), while cinephile guide dogs are also welcome. Those interested can send, from Thursday 22nd September, an e-mail to accreditations@aiff.gr with contact details (full name, mobile phone, e-mail) for the free issue of the relevant 5-screening Film Pass, with the necessary attachment of one of the following:

- disability culture card (Greek Ministry of Culture) 

- disability travel pass (Athens Mass Transit System) 

- disability unemployment card (Manpower Employment Organization) 

- deaf/hard-of-hearing union card or any other relevant documentation 

The Film Pass for disabled people must strictly be used by the person it is issued to and gives its holder, the opportunity to redeem with his/her card code a zero ticket per screening for any 5 screenings (except for the Opening Film and the 2 screenings with a ticket price of 9€), throughout the Festival and depending on ticket availability. 

Entry to screenings will be granted with the presentation of a zero-fee ticket and the Film Pass. 

In case of need of an accompanying person, a simultaneous application for 2 Film Passes must be made and the need must be specified. 

The Film Pass code will be sent electronically from accreditations@aiff.gr to the email specified by the person making the application.   

FILM PASSES FOR THE UNEMPLOYED  

From Thursday September 22nd interested parties can send an e-mail to accreditations@aiff.gr with contact details (name, mobile phone, email address) to have a 3-screening film pass issued. A copy of an up-to-date Unemployment Card will need to be attached to the email.  

Unemployment card holders are entitled to 1 pass with 3 unique codes which correspond to 3 free tickets. Each code can be used to have a ticket issued for a same-day or next-day screening as in the case of accreditations. 

ACCREDITATIONS 

Accreditation holders can issue their zero ticket ONLY on the day before or on the same day of the screening of their choice.

Journalist Accreditations: A pass with a unique code that corresponds to 5 Festival screenings. Using the unique code, the accredited Film Pass holder can issue tickets for the screenings of his / her choice  (except the closing ceremony and the 2 screenings with a ticket price of 9€)  both online, through viva.gr as well as at all physical points of sale. Accredited Film Pass holders are not allowed to have more than one ticket issued per screening.  

Accreditation and unemployment Film Pass holders can only have tickets issued for same-day or next-day screenings, and they can commence redeeming their zero-fee tickets as of Wednesday September 28th at 12.00 noon and daily from 11.00 am.

Important notes

- You can purchase your tickets from www.viva.gr online, at the physical points of sale and by phone by booking on 11876*

- We encourage you to purchase your tickets before arriving at the cinema. Ideally, you should have them in electronic form on your mobile phone or have them pre-printed to facilitate the safe and unobstructed flow of the public to the theater.

- The box office of each cinema issues tickets only for the screenings taking place in the cinema.

- Cinema box offices are open 60 minutes before the start of the first screening and 30 minutes after the start of the last screening

- One hour before each screening and until the start of the screening, the box office of each cinema shall issue tickets only for screenings on the same day.

- Tickets for all venues of the Festival can be sold at the Press Office but only with a card charge (no cash). 

- Ticket changes are NOT allowed.

- Ticket cancellations are allowed online via viva.gr, at any time up to one hour before the screening for which the ticket has been issued.

- Ticket cancellations in cinemas are allowed up to one hour before the screening for which the ticket has been issued. The holder must present the ticket to be canceled to the cinema from which it was issued. 

- The online ticket sale ends 15 minutes before the start of each film. In the last 15 minutes before the start of the film, tickets are only available from the cinema where the film is being shown.  

- Film Pass and Accreditation Card holders need to issue zero value tickets using the unique card code. Showing the card does NOT guarantee admission to theaters. 

- Film Pass and Accreditation Card holders can use their card and issue zero value tickets only for screenings with a ticket price of 5 or 7 euros.  

- Film Pass holders can use their card for the same screening and issue as many zero value tickets as they wish (and have available) on their card.
