SID AND NANCY

On the night of September 12, 1978 at the legendary Chelsea Hotel, Nancy Spungen was stabbed to death, possibly by her lover, Sex Pistols bassist Sid Vicious. Alex Cox returns to the legendary punk era, casts a staggering Gary Oldman as the lead (with an equally awesome Chloe Webb by his side) and transcribes in full volume the mythology of "live fast, die young" into a poisonous romance of abuse and excess. Almost forty years after its premiere, “Sid and Nancy” ranks suitably among the best films ever made about music, established its young protagonist as a rising talent and future star, and continues to enthrall with its raucousness and energy.
