Robert, a student in an elite preparatory school, accidentally captures the tragic death of two classmates on his digital camera. In an attempt to help students reach closure, the school board asks Robert to make a commemorative video. However, the video raises questions about the circumstances of the girls’ death and the East Coast school suddenly finds itself in the grip of paranoia. Strongly reminiscent of Gus Van Sant, Antonio Campos’s documentary-style debut is a study of the impact of images and a bold dissection of the YouTube generation. The film was featured in the Un Certain Regard Section at Cannes.
