Hobo With a Shotgun
An elderly homeless man arrives at a nameless town yearning to buy a lawnmower and fulfil the American dream. When he faces the regime of terror established by the gangster Drake and his sadistic sons, however, he decides to use his meagre savings differently: he buys a hunting rifle and turns into a bloodthirsty avenger, who sets his fury loose on paedophiles dressed as Santa, corrupt cops and other scumbags. Winning first place in the contest that Tarantino and Rodriguez set up for “Grindhouse” was just the beginning for Jason Eisener, who turned his 150-dollar fake trailer into a full-length, crazy and foul-mouthed homage to the exploitation films of the 70s, outshining his famous colleagues. Amidst the generous helpings of blood, brains and guts, Rutger Hauer achieves the most raging comeback in the last years.
