Karate - Robo Zaborgar
After the death of his scientist father, the policeman Daimon Yutaka inherits the robot warrior Zaborgar. This electronic karate guru is equipped with a variety of weapons and, when necessary, can transform into a motorcycle. Daimon, with Zaborgar’s help, throws himself into battle against Sigma, a diabolical organization stealing DNA from Japanese politicians to fuel a gigantic robotic super-weapon. Based on the Japanese cult TV series of the 70s, which gave Hasbro the inspiration for Transformers, “Karate Robo Zaborgar” is a “tokusatsu” film (that is, a special effects film) in which the super-kitschy aesthetics and the shoddy special effects intertwine in a hilarious mix of cyber-slapstick and mechanical demonstration of martial arts.
