Rabies
Two siblings, guilty of some unnamed offense, run away from home and take shelter in a remote forest. When the girl falls into the trap of a psychopath serial killer, her brother fights against time to manage to get help. In a weird twist of fate, the girl’s rescue becomes directly connected to the lives of a group of young tennis players, a forest ranger with his dog and a group of policemen. A film filled with hysterical twists and deadly surprises, ingenious dialogue and hideous but imaginative murders, “Kalevet” is the first horror movie shot in Israel. More meta than “Scream” itself, Aharon Keshales’ and Navot Papushado’s directorial debut is the unexpected and infinitely entertaining slasher experience of the year.
