Polisse
A little girl confesses to the police that her father is sexually harassing her. Another case opens for the Child Protection Unit of a police station in Paris; their job is to take deposits from children, question suspect parents and discover the truth between childhood imagination and grim reality. Maïwenn Le Besco directs and stars in this police dramedy with a deeply moving and realistic documentary look, about a group of people living and working while knowing that Evil is out there. Inhuman crimes, uncontrollable fits of laughter in odd moments and innocent, cold gazes of children: they all coexist in this compassionate film, which was awarded the Jury Prize at the recent Cannes Film Festival.
