We Need to Talk about Kevin
One day young Kevin decides to take up his bow and wipe out an entire class at school, ending up in jail. What went wrong? His mother, an elegant advertiser up until that moment, plunges on the past and the memories of his childhood, in an attempt to comprehend why her teenage son has become a murderer. The amazing Tilda Swinton, in the role of the mother, gives an exquisite performance of yet another otherworldly and dysfunctional character, while the steadily up-and-coming Ezra Miller embodies, in a sufficiently unhealthy manner, the maladjusted youngster. Lynne Ramsay, director of the visually stunning “Morvern Callar” and “Ratcatcher”, having abstained from films for ten years – in part because Peter Jackson snatched “The Lovely Bones” from her hands – adapts Lionel Shriver’s novel of the same name and presents one of the most anticipated films of the year.
