Early one morning, a widower wakes his two children, puts them hurriedly in the car and together they start a deceptively carefree journey into the American inland with an uncertain destination and a secret that will only be revealed by the end. One that will break out heart. For beyond a lyrical road-movie this touching debut is a compassionate look in the lives of the downtrodden, for those that no happy end is certain and no journey is carefree and innocent. John Magaro of “Past Lives” carries the dramatic weight of the film in his role as the father, but 9-year-old Molly Belle Wright steals the show sweetly, embodying the end of innocence and the traumatized childhood in a way that haunts the audience. COLE WEBLEY

Growing up in rural Washington, Cole Webley believed that becoming a director was an unattainable dream. However, his family's love of cinema sparked his interest in the people behind the camera from an early age, and he soon knew that he wanted to become a director. He has worked with many companies, including Lexus and Johnson & Johnson, has delivered work in short films, and this is his debut feature film.
