30th Athens International Film Festival: Opening of the Akira Kurosawa tribute
The 30th Athens International Film Festival takes place from October 2-14, 2024.
AKIRA KUROSAWA: ALL THE BEAUTY AND BLOODSHED
The grand tribute of the 30th Athens International Film Festival, titled "AKIRA KUROSAWA: ALL THE BEAUTY AND BLOODSHED," began with a celebratory screening of "Seven Samurai". The event was attended by the Ambassador of Japan to Greece, Mr. ITO Koichi, and his wife.
Alongside the Festival's Artistic Director, Loukas Katsikas, they spoke about the significance of this tribute, which coincides with "2024: Year of Culture and Tourism between Greece and Japan."
Mrs. Eliza Gerouki, head of corporate communications for the shipping company M/Maritime, a sponsor of the tribute, also honored the event with her presence. Without the company's valuable support, this long-standing dream of the Festival would not have become a reality.
