KELLY REICHARDT

Filmmaker and screenwriter who grew up in Miami and obtained her MFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Her debut feature “River of Grass” (1995) was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance Film Festival. Due to a lack of financing, Reichardt continued shooting Super-8 short films instead, only to return to the feature format 12 years later with “Old Joy” (2006). Reichardt has won prizes and earned major nominations with her films in a multitude of film festivals around the world.  She is known for her minimalist style of filming with a strong emphasis on mood and atmosphere.
