Closing ceremony and Awards Presentation of the International Sections
On Saturday night, the Closing and Awards Ceremony of the 31st Athens International Film Festival took place at a packed Olympia City Music Theater.
The Festival’s Executive Director, opened the ceremony with a brief recap of this year’s “legendary” edition, which, despite the challenges, was an outstanding success. We felt immense pride in offering our loyal audience a program worthy of the Festival’s rich history.
The evening’s host, Anastasia Galerou Vlassi, was joined on stage by Irini Sarli, responsible for English interpretation, and Fotini Anesti & Marina Saini from synnergy company, who provided interpretation in Greek Sign Language.
The International Competition Jury consisted of Stephen Woolley, Jessica Kiang, Ioanna Spiliopoulou and Miia Mikkola, while the Documentary Competition Jury included Eva Stefani, Alexander Nanau, Fabienne Moris and Maria Katsounaki
We had the pleasure and honor of hosting all jury members, who presented the awards and warmly thanked the filmmakers and the Festival for the inspiring and challenging work they undertook.
These Nights filled both our theaters and our hearts!
Eleven days of screenings filled with eagerly anticipated premieres, new voices in Greek cinema, gems of independent filmmaking, distinguished guests, and pure cinematic magic.
