32nd Athens International Film Festival: Invitation to the Press Conference Presenting the Programme
The 32nd Athens International Film Festival, with EKKOMED as its Main Partner, DEI as its Gold Sponsor, and the City of Athens Organization for Culture, Sports and Youth (OPANDA) as its co-organizer, invites you to the Press Conference for this year’s festival, which will take place on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., at the “Auditorium Theo Angelopoulos” of the French Institute of Greece in Athens (31 Sina Street, Athens).

During the Press Conference, the Artistic Director of the Athens International Film Festival, Loukas Katsikas, will announce the full programme of the 32nd edition, in the presence of representatives of the Festival’s sponsors and supporters, journalists, as well as members of the film community (jury members, filmmakers, and film professionals).
The presence of the institutional partners and supporters at this year’s festival reflects the importance of collective efforts to support Greek cinema and strengthen its international presence. Within this framework, the institutional partnership between the 32nd Athens International Film Festival and the Hellenic Film and Audiovisual Center (EKKOMED) is being further expanded and developed, with EKKOMED serving as a Main Partner, focusing on international outreach, global networking, and cultural diplomacy.
The partnership includes a comprehensive programme of activities that brings Greek filmmakers and industry professionals together with prominent representatives of the international film industry, with the aim of fostering new collaborations and strengthening the international presence of Greek cinema.
More specifically, EKKOMED is leveraging its strategic partnership with the 32nd Athens International Film Festival as a dynamic platform for the international networking and outreach of Greek cinema. Through a comprehensive programme of industry meetings, international masterclasses, and networking events, this joint initiative connects Greek filmmakers with the global market. The partnership sets in motion a long-term strategy for promoting Greece’s audiovisual creative sector, which will unfold through a series of sustained steps leading up to the 2027 Cannes Film Festival, culminating in the hosting of the landmark European Film Awards – Athens 2027 ceremony.

The 32nd Athens International Film Festival will take place from September 30 to October 11, 2026, at ASTOR, DANAOS, CINOBO OPERA 1, Athens Concert Hall, Olympia Municipal Music Theatre “Maria Callas,” Onassis Stegi, TRIANON, and FLOYD Live Music Venue.
