MARYAM TOUZANI
She is a Moroccan writer, director, and actress, born in Tangier in 1980. She studied journalism in London before returning to Morocco to become a film critic and journalist, and later directing several acclaimed short and feature films, including “The Blue Caftan” (2022). Her work often explores themes of love, intimacy, and the complex social landscape of Morocco, with many of her films (and the one we present this year, too) serving as Morocco's submission for the Best International Feature Film Academy Award.
