32nd Athens International Film Festival: Day 3 [photos]
The 32nd Athens International Film Festival takes place from September 30 to October 11, 2026, powered by EKOMED (Hellenic Film & Audiovisual Center – Creative Greece), with DEI as its Gold Sponsor, and co-organized with OPANDA (Organization for Culture, Sports and Youth of the City of Athens).
Lee Chang-dong, Slavoj Žižek, Pulp and “Club Kid”: day three of the 32nd Athens International Film Festival brought twelve screenings across four venues, a masterclass and a midnight party. “The Red Hangar”, “Tin Castle” and “The Pervert’s Guide to Utopias” compete for the Golden Athena awards across our two international competitions, while Rudi Rosenberg presented “Words of Love” at DANAOS 1. Our Lee Chang-dong retrospective continued with “Poetry”, while Yorgos Lanthimos’s curated programme featured Miloš Forman’s “The Firemen’s Ball”. Also on the programme: “Club Kid”, “Viva Carmen!”, “Never After Dark”, “At Night”, five Greek short films and “Pulp: What Do You Do for an Encore?”. We began with Olympia Mytilinaiou’s masterclass “The Emotional Image” at the Athens Concert Hall and rounded off the day with “Do You Remember the First Time? — A History of British Pop” at PRAXITELOUS.
