32nd Athens International Film Festival: Day 4 [photos]
The 32nd Athens International Film Festival takes place from September 30 to October 11, 2026, powered by EKOMED (Hellenic Film & Audiovisual Center – Creative Greece), with DEI as its Gold Sponsor, and co-organized with OPANDA (Organization for Culture, Sports and Youth of the City of Athens).
Ken Russell, Radu Jude, Lee Chang-dong and the legendary “Wanda”: day four of the 32nd Athens International Film Festival brought eleven screenings across four venues, taking us from the ruins of Pompeii to Duke Ellington’s living room. Cannes prizewinner “La Gradiva” and “Narciso” compete for the Golden Athena in the International Competition, while “Gabin” and “Once Upon a Time in Harlem” featured in the International Documentary Competition. Five more Greek short films screened at CINOBO OPERA 1. Ken Russell’s “The Devils” returned in its restored, uncut version, Radu Jude offered his own take on “The Diary of a Chambermaid”, and our Lee Chang-dong retrospective continued with “Burning”. Also on the programme: Alex Camilleri’s “Żejtune”, Clio Barnard’s “I See Buildings Fall Like Lightning” and Barbara Loden’s “Wanda”, screening as part of “Yorgos Lanthimos Presents”.
