30th Athens International Film Festival: Photo Album of Thursday, October 3, and Friday, October 4, 2024 (Day #1 & #2)
The 30th Athens International Film Festival takes place from October 2-14, 2024.
Konstantina Kotzamani kicked off the Greek Short Film Competition with her wonderfully tender WHAT MARY DIDN’T KNOW, passing the baton to Daphné Hérétakis, Lina Kountoura, Eleni Poulopoulou, and Meletis Moiras, who shared their short stories yesterday.
The first day continued with CYCLADIC SCREENINGS at the Museum of Cycladic Art. As part of the Cindy Sherman: Early Works exhibition, Thodoris Koutsogiannopoulos and Akis Kapranos introduced two masterpieces: THE NAKED KISS and BEYOND THE VALLEY OF THE DOLLS, personally selected by the photographer.
On the second day, the festival traveled from the Greek cult movies ("Latreia" by Meletis Moiras) to new - and essential - female voices in cinema with the fantastic Maria Louka and Margarita Mytilinaiou, representing WIFT GR (Women in Film & Television Greece).
The day concluded AFTER MIDNIGHT with a delightfully wicked VISITOR arriving at Asty Cinema. Laughter and screams alternated at the packed Danaos Cinema, where the cinematic experience of the year, THE SUBSTANCE, left everyone shocked, accompanied by refreshing Jameson Irish Whiskey cocktails.
