30th Athens International Film Festival: Photo Album of Sunday, October 6, 2024 (Day #4)
The 30th Athens International Film Festival takes place from October 2-14, 2024.
Another festival day filled with cinema hopping and packed theaters!
The Sunday afternoon featured Greek Short Stories by Vivian Papageorgiou, Niki Arniakou, Petros Niamonitakis, Kitty Kedesi, and Anda Pitsiou at Astor, the home of this year’s short films.
We continued with three back-to-back sold-out screenings at Cinobo Opera I, where our beloved Alexandros Papageorgiou introduced the masterpiece DISTANT VOICES, STILL LIVES. Then came the silent but incredibly moving FLOW — the best animation film of the year — followed by our opening film ANORA, from Sean Baker, the prince of American indie cinema and a favorite of AIFF.
Next door, in Cinobo Opera 2, the revolutionary documentary SAVANNA AND THE MOUNTAIN had its premiere, with the talented director Paulo Carneiro answering enthusiastic questions from the audience.
