"Feeding Hope": Screening and Open Discussion on Food Insecurity at the Athens International Film Festival | Free Entry

Tonight, Wednesday, October 9 at 8:00 PM, the 30th Athens International Film Festival invites you to the Auditorium Theo Angelopoulos at the French Institute of Greece for a screening of the documentary "Winning Battles", followed by an open discussion on food insecurity | Free entry.

FEEDING HOPE

Gathering for a family meal. Planting seeds for a sustainable life. Bonding over the stove with loved ones. These experiences, which many often take for granted, are just dreams for millions of people around the world who experience severe food insecurity.

These millions have been deprived of this basic human right due to conflict, recurring and more extreme natural hazards and economic crises.

As part of the European Commission's Feeding Hope campaign on global food insecurity, which remains alarmingly high, the European Union is stepping up its efforts to help vulnerable communities.

The 30th Athens International Film Festival is joining the campaign with a screening of the short documentary Winning Battles by Olivier Jobard, Julien Pebrel, and Olivier Laban-Mattei on Wednesday, October 9 at 8:00 PM at the Auditorium Theo Angelopoulos (French Institute of Greece, 31 Sina Street).

The Open Discussion panel will be composed of Roy Tzivra, Internal Communication Coordinator at the European Commission's Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO), Alexandros Theodoridis, Founding Member of the NGO BOROUME, which aims to reduce food waste and increase food support throughout Greece and Gogo Delogianni, Chef.

The Open Discussion will be facilitated by Maria Nathanail, Head of  Communications at the Athens International Film Festival.
