Oscar-winner Cillian Murphy ("Oppenheimer") stars in and co-produces one of the year's finest dramas: an atmospheric and subdued adaptation of Claire Keegan's homonymous best-selling novel, set in a small town in mid-1980s Ireland. There, just before Christmas, a hard-working and humble family man is confronted by his conscience and, more importantly, by the complicit silence of his fellow countrymen, who he discovers are covering up the corrupt and inhuman methods of the Catholic Church. Portraying an extraordinarily compassionate character, Murphy becomes the emotional soul of a wonderful (and Christmassy) parable about the potential of kindness and solidarity to illuminate the vast darkness of humanity.

TIM MIELANTS
Belgian director, born in 1979. He studied in Brussels, and entered the world of television where he worked for years, including directing the entire season 3 of "Peaky Blinders". His debut film ("De Patrick") excelled at the international festival circuit.
