Seven years is too long to be deprived of the best actor of his generation. A major cinematic event, the great return of Daniel Day-Lewis to acting comes with a script he co-wrote with his son Ronan, the director of the film. The latter realizes a very confident feature film debut, with an evocative, atmospheric as well as emotionally rich drama. Set in northern England, where a middle-aged man (Sean Bean) travels to the forest to meet his reclusive brother with whom they are estranged. The two are connected by a mysterious and complicated past, one that constitutes a very fragile relationship, forever burdened by events that took place decades earlier. Thus the film penetrates their tumultuous family history, seeking catharsis and redemption in the context of a legacy of violence and open wounds that have to be healed. Th.K.
In attendance of director Ronan Day-Lewis and lead actor Daniel Day-Lewis.
All proceeds from the screening will be donated to "Cerebral Palsy Greece / Open Door".
