LAV DIAZ
Philippine filmmaker, screenwriter, producer, and actor born in 1958. He is considered to be the “ideological father of the New Philippine Cinema”, Diaz is a master of “slow cinema” and one of the most original directors of the contemporary film scene. A Golden Lion in Venice and a Golden Leopard in Locarno are only a couple of his official distinctions.
