It's a psychological drama, it's a latent thriller, it's a queer romance. And it's not at all what it seems. Which means that the less you know about this film beforehand, the more you will enjoy its plot twists. It all starts when two young men meet in a psychological support group and gradually become friends. They have both lost their twin siblings, and the difficult task of dealing with their grief brings them closer together. Still, it is possible that one of the two is not entirely honest about his motives, apart from the fact that he may be hiding a dark detail from his past. Skillfully balancing between a sexy bromance and a film unafraid to make its audience feel uncomfortable, screenwriter, director, and co-star James Sweeney finds a subversive, subtly twisted way to talk about the paradoxical bonds that unite and divide us as well as the desperate acts that anyone is willing to resort to in the name of solitude and the need for companionship. In a dual role, Dylan O'Brien emerges as one of the most daring and talented actors of his generation. L.K.
