IN A SILENT WAY
A film crew crosses England with the aim of unravelling the mystery behind an album released 32 years ago and that of its composer. Intimate and unique (as is fitting for the unconventional biography of the frontman of Talk Talk, Mark Hollis), “In a Silent Way” respectfully examines the legacy left behind by an utterly introverted genius, from the revival of new wave to the establishment of post rock and the haunting recordings of the exquisite “Spirit of Eden”.
The film is also available for screening on festival's digital platform. For additional information please visit online.aiff.gr.

Talk Talk is probably the most precious “obscure” treasure of ‘80s pop music. They influenced other artists but due to the hermetic nature of their frontman, Mark Hollis, they soon disappeared from the spotlight, like silence in noise. Silence. Hollis’ ever favourite sound – before he died, quietly, at 64, in 2019.
But the director of ‘In a Silent Way’ embarks on an odyssey from Brussels to Sussex, following the tracks of the man who changed his life. Still, how do youmake a documentary about your favourite musician when he asks you in writing not to use his music and the entire band refuses to...talk? A penetrating look at memory, artistic passion and true modesty. I.D.
