Cardinal Lawrence is tasked with carrying out the proceedings, unearthing secrets he must decide whether to leave forever in the dark or bring to light. Masterfully directed, constantly surprising, with a commanding leading performance by Ralph Fiennes and a "heretic" finale that will be talked about.

EDWARD BERGER

German-Austrian-Swiss filmmaker, born 1970 in (then) West Germany. He studied directing in New York. Internationally multi-awarded, Oscar winner for 2022's "All Quiet in the Western Front", he has become something of a wild card in today's Hollywood, which is desperately seeking a competent director for adult-oriented commercial projects.
