A smart but unsociable 14-year-old boy living with his divorced mother decides to spend the summer not on vacation but in his room. He aims to finish writing and rehearsing his new play. However, he will fall in love at first sight with the 25-year-old man who repairs their house. As he tries to deal with his sudden sexual awakening, he receives his first emotional slap in the process, finally realizing something way more important in life. A queer romantic comedy that doesn't want to be cute or take the easy road to the audience's heart, this courageous debut triumphed at the Tribeca Film Festival this year, winning Best Film, Best Screenplay and Best Director awards.
