The director of a psychiatric clinic lives with his family in a beautiful villa at the premises of the clinic. His wife and three sons coexist daily with the inmates of the institution which come and go in the house in a condition of absolute acceptance. Colorfully and faultlessly designed in its art direction, never slips towards a Wes Anderson imitation, always retaining its grasp of reality. A touching, communal coming-of-age story of an entire family which while seducing you with its charming ‘70s references never forgets that time is unforgiving and the past is never as romantic as we remember it. SONJA HEISS
German writer/director, born in 1976. She studied Documentary at the University of Cinema and Television in Munich. She worked as casting director, assistant director and she has directed commercials. This is her 3rd feature film.
