Leon and Zacharoula visit the thermal springs in Kaiafa for the 20th time. He has just retired and realizes he is faced with a bleak future, while for her, another summer in this particular resort means the same charming routine among friends. Only this summer won’t be nothing like the previous ones.
One of the best debuts in Greek cinema, Yorgos Panousopoulos’ film introduces an already well-rounded artist, with excellent knowledge of the technical means, the cinematic language, the direction of a touching cast of veteran actors. A tragicomic elegy for loneliness, the passing of time, the illusive charm of youth, the vitalising power of sexual desire, and death as the only certainty – with music by Manos Hatzidakis. L.K.
