Elizabeth (Portman), an upcoming television actress, is about to play for a true crime production Gracie (Moore), a woman who provoked a national scandal 23 years ago when she was caught having sex with one of her students. Elizabeth decides to move in with Gracie for a while, for the demands of her role. This marks the beginning of a delightful showdown, full of vitriolic glances feeding a growing sexual tension of a ménage à trois. Todd Haynes rewrites camp for a meta soap opera and delivers the most strangely attractive film of his significant oeuvre. Present in this year’s Competition in Cannes Film Festival. Th.K.

TODD HAYNES
American director, screenwriter and producer, born in 1961. He studied Art and Semiotics at Brown University. Nominated for an Academy Award for the screenplay of ‘Far From Heaven’, he holds a Cannes film festival Queer Palm for ‘Carol’.
