Travis, an Englishman of Jamaican origin, is released from jail and Candice, an amateur singer obsessed with Tina Turner waits for him. She dreams of portraying her and she will audition for the part on a West End musical. But when she catches Travis wearing the ‘pretty red dress’ he bought her for the audition things get complicated. It’s unusual to find a feelgood film these days. It’s even more unusual to find films that make us feel good with their positive energy while at the same time dealing with the notion of ‘feeling good’. Without over explaining, pointing fingers or hip affiliations, Dionne Edwards’ debut has something to say and you will have a wonderful time listening to it. I.D.

DIONNE EDWARDS
British filmmaker of Nigerian and Jamaican origin. She studied Film and Television at the University of Westminster while she practiced for a year in the famous production company Working Title. This is her feature film debut, after several awards for her short films.
