In a nocturnal Paris that seems to have sprung from a dream, in those contemplative hours before dawn, on languid streets illuminated by neon signs, the paths of six different women intersect along with their experiences, their little stories. And the visual artist and director Beatrice Gibson, in her feature film debut, transforms an evening wander into a collective feminist chronicle that evokes the cinema of Chantal Akerman, balancing between fiction, documentary and pure poetry, all unfolding over the course of a single night. The mystical cinematography of Ben Rivers perfectly complements the hypnotic sound design, while the recitations of writer Alice Notley encounter whispers in urban cafés, capturing the secret connections of women in an atmospheric, existential meditation that turns the darkness of the city into a living canvas.
